    On writing shaders as translation

    There is something interesting about the moment a visual pattern becomes a mathematical rule. The constraint of having to express it precisely changes how you understand it — not just how you represent it.

    Making a character feel alive — blink timing experiments

    Fixed blink intervals read as mechanical. A random interval with small variance reads as present. The difference is tiny in milliseconds and enormous in perception. Spent a day just on eye timing.

    First full run through the 3D scanning pipeline

    Took a physical object from scan to clean mesh for the first time end-to-end. The retopology is cleaner than I expected at this texture density. Surface detail holds well through the full pipeline.
